Sessions are available in 1- 2 hour blocks, with a minimum commitment of three sessions per month to support consistency and progress.
Community Based Instruction
Our Community-Based Instruction (CBI) program helps students build practical, everyday life skills through hands-on experiences in real-world environments.
Whether it’s creating a shopping list and navigating a grocery store, planning a bus route, organizing daily tasks, or learning how to confidently attend a movie or community event—our sessions are designed to empower students with the tools they need to live more independently and with purpose.
We focus on functional skills that matter: money management, time awareness, social interaction, self-advocacy, and problem-solving. By blending these experiences with consistent coaching and reflection, students learn how to take ownership of their decisions, communicate effectively, and grow their sense of self within their local community.
Each outing is supported by pre-teaching, structured practice, and follow-up discussion, ensuring students not only experience success, but understand why it matters and how to repeat it.
Social Emotional Learning
We teach students how to understand and manage their emotions, build healthy relationships, and apply real-world coping strategies that support growth in and out of the classroom.
Using evidence-based SEL curriculum, we guide students through self-awareness, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and communication skills in ways that are engaging, practical, and age-appropriate. From learning how to identify their feelings to practicing how to respond during moments of stress, our sessions are rooted in real-life scenarios and reflective learning.
Whether your child struggles with frustration, friendships, anxiety, or confidence, we help them build the tools they need to self-regulate, make positive choices, and navigate social settings with clarity and confidence.
Academic Support
Our tutoring is designed with intention—supporting students who learn differently by aligning each session with their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We don’t just review homework; we address academic goals, accommodations, and executive functioning needs tailored to your child’s strengths.
Parent Empowerment
Our Parent Empowerment services are designed to equip families with the tools, strategies, and confidence needed to support their child’s behavioral and emotional development at home and in the community.
Through one-on-one coaching, we guide parents in navigating behavioral challenges with compassion and consistency. From meltdowns to transitions, we help you understand the “why” behind the behavior—and what to do next. Together, we develop coping strategies, visual supports, routines, and personalized resources that are realistic and easy to implement in your daily life.
You’ll learn how to model emotional regulation, set healthy boundaries, and reinforce positive behaviors in ways that strengthen your connection with your child. We don’t just offer advice—we teach you how to apply strategies with confidence in real-life situations like grocery shopping, school drop-offs, or family events.
Behavior doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. With the right support, you can create calm, consistent environments that nurture growth.

Sliding Scale Pricing & Community Support
At Learning In Waves Educational Services, we believe every child deserves access to quality support—regardless of their family's financial situation. That’s why we offer sliding scale pricing based on individual needs and income levels.
If your family is able to pay above the base rate, your contribution helps sponsor services for another child in our community who may not otherwise have access. Together, we build a stronger, more inclusive network of support.

📦 Bundle Services – FAQ & Policy

Q: Are bundles required?
A: Not at all! Bundles are optional and available for families who want multi-service support. You’re welcome to enroll in just one service if that fits your needs.

Q: Can I switch the services in my bundle each month?
A: Yes! Just notify us by the 25th of each month if you'd like to swap one service for another in your upcoming bundle. This helps us plan staffing and scheduling.

Q: Is there a contract or long-term commitment?
A: No long-term contracts! We bill month-to-month, and you’re free to adjust services as needed. We just ask for open communication and timely notice for changes.

Q: Can I use sliding scale pricing with a bundle?
A: Yes, but only one discount can be applied at a time. If you qualify for our sliding scale, we’ll calculate both the bundle discount and the income-based rate, then apply whichever is the greater benefit to you.

Q: What if we miss or cancel a session within the bundle?
A: Each service within the bundle follows our general make-up policy:
24-hour notice required for cancellation
Make-ups offered based on staff availability
Please note that missed sessions are not refunded, but we’ll do our best to reschedule within the same month. -
Q: What happens if we want to drop one service from our bundle?
A: That’s okay! You can adjust or drop a service at the end of each month with no penalty. If you drop a service mid-month, your pricing will be adjusted accordingly, but bundle discounts may no longer apply for that month.
